BACKPACK MINISTRY

“In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”

Matthew 5:16

What is the Backpack Ministry?

In our community of Hanahan we have families facing food insecurity, with children relying heavily on the schools to meet their nutritional needs. This means that many weekends, there are neighbors, classmates, and friends who would potentially have nothing to eat.
This is where the Backpack Ministry steps in, providing food for children each and every weekend. However, it doesn’t stop there. By meeting these families right where they are, filling a practical need, and consistently “showing up,” we have a tremendous opportunity to build relationships and share the hope that we carry as followers of Christ. The end goal is not dropping food at their doorstep. The end goal is sharing the Gospel and seeing lives transformed by the perfect love of God.
