3 Circles is a simple way to have gospel conversations. As you examine the truths below, you’ll see how God has organized the world to work, what’s gone wrong, and how we can respond to Him.

God displays His eternal power and divine nature through His design of the world and everything in it.

God looked at what He had created and said it was good. He is Holy and created man in his own image for relationship with Him.

God placed men and women on the earth to rule over the creation and to cultivate it. In the beginning, Man experienced perfect peace with God, and lived in God’s design.

The Bible Says

“God saw all that He had made, and it was very good.” Genesis 1:31

“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky proclaims the work of His hands.” Psalm 19:1

Unfortunately, Man sinned against God by disobeying Him and their relationship with God was broken resulting in death.

From birth, all people are separated from God because of Sin, and are subject to His wrath for eternity.

We selfishly insist on doing things our own way. We all sin and distort God’s original design.

The Bible Says

“All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23

“For the wages of sin is death.” Romans 6:23a

“But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.” Isaiah 59:2

Sin and death lead to a world of brokenness. We see this all around us and in our own lives as well.

Apart from God, we are left with self-centered pursuits and meaningless experiences that leave us feeling empty as we move closer to death.

Brokenness leads to a place of realizing our need for something greater that we do not possess within ourselves.

The Bible Says

“For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened.” Romans 1:21

“They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served something created instead of the Creator.” Romans 1:25

At this point, we need a remedy – Some Good News.

Because of His love, God did not leave us in our brokenness. Jesus, God in human flesh, came to restore the life-giving relationship between God and Man by ushering in the Kingdom of God.

Jesus is the Christ, the King, God’s one and only Son. He came to us and lived perfectly according to God’s design. He died on the cross for our sins, was buried, and was resurrected on the third day according to the Scriptures.

God is reconciling the world to himself through Jesus. God has made a way for all mankind to be reconciled to a new life with Him for eternity.

The Bible Says

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

“That Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures. ” 1 Corinthians 15:3b-4

Repent & Believe

Simply hearing this Good News is not enough.

We must admit our sinful brokenness and stop trusting in ourselves. We don’t have the power to escape this brokenness on our own. We need to be rescued…

In His great love and by His amazing grace, God our Father saves everyone who repents of their sin, believes the gospel, and follows Jesus in the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Bible Says

“The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news.” Mark 1:15

“For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves, it is God’s gift – not form works, so that no one can boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9

“If you confess with your mouth, ‘Jesus is Lord,’ and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.” Romans 10:9

“For it is God who is working in you, enabling you both to desire and to work out His good purpose.” Philippians 2:13

When God restores our relationship to Him, we begin to discover meaning and purpose in a broken world. When restored we receive the gift of the Holy Spirit that empowers us to pursue God’s design and assures us of His presence in this life and for all eternity.

Even when we fall, we understand God’s pathway to be restored – Repent, Believe, and Follow – this same Good News of Jesus.

When King Jesus returns on the last day, the great Day of Judgement, everyone who followed Him will enter the eternal Kingdom of God.

The Bible Says

“Come, follow me,” Jesus said. “And I will send you out to fish for people.” Mark 1:17

“All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.” 2 Corinthians 5:18

“For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.” Colossians 1:13-14

Now that you have heard this Good News, God wants you to respond to Him.

The first step you should take in following Jesus is Baptism. Baptism is a public expression of what God is doing in you as you take a step in following Him.

Then, as a follower of Jesus, you should surround yourself with others who are following Him on mission.
